Requirements:

  • Firms must maintain an ongoing training program for registered personnel to help them stay current on their professional, regulatory, and compliance responsibilities.
  • Firms must evaluate their training needs at least annually and develop a written training plan.
  • Training programs must be tailored to employees’ roles and responsibilities and cover topics relevant to their job functions and professional obligations.
  • Firms must provide additional supervisory training when their assessment identifies a need for personnel with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Firms must administer their training programs in accordance with their written plan and maintain records of training content and completion.
  • Registered personnel are expected to participate in required training programs as directed by the firm.
  • FINRA may require firms to provide targeted training on specific topics when deemed necessary.
