Michelle Mantine: DOJ’s targeted review strategy and healthcare companies

The DOJ’s Antitrust Division is returning to targeted Second Request investigations.

The Department of Justice has announced it will resume targeted Second Requests to expedite merger reviews, accompanied by a new model timing agreement. The DOJ says the approach reduces transaction costs and administrative burdens for merging parties while maintaining its ability to thoroughly investigate deals that raise competitive concerns.
