Scott Bessent appointed CFPB acting director

President Trump designated the Secretary of the Treasury as the head of the agency following the resignation of Director Rohit Chopra.

Responding to the appoointment Secretary Bessent said “I look forward to working with the CFPB to advance President Trump’s agenda to lower costs for the American people and accelerate economic growth”.
