US senator prompts discussion on regulation of AI agents

Senator Warner’s proposed AI AGENT Act would apply to large online platforms and give users the right to choose a third-party AI agent.

Senator Mark Warner has released a discussion draft on a proposed Artificial Intelligence Access, Gatekeeper Exchange, and Nondiscriminatory Transfer Act, or the AI AGENT Act, which represents the first significant federal framework specifically targeting consumer-facing AI agents.
