The Bill includes whistleblower protections for AI workers and foresees a state-run cloud computing cluster called CalCompute.

California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a first-in-the-nation AI law this week that will force major AI companies to reveal their safety protocols. The enactment ends a lobbying battle state lawmakers faced with big tech companies such as ChatGPT maker OpenAI and Meta.
