SEC proposes amendments to small entity definitions

The SEC said it has “a longstanding commitment to understanding and addressing the concerns of small entities,” and that this animated the proposal here.

The SEC has proposed amendments to the rules that define which registered investment companies, investment advisers, and business development companies qualify as small entities.  

Specifically, the SEC proposed increasing the asset-based thresholds used in those definitions.
