Insurance executive and marketing CEO sentenced in $233m ACA fraud scheme

Texts exchanged by the defendants revealed a scheme that targeted low-income individuals experiencing homelessness, unemployment, and other challenges.

The president of Florida-based Insurance brokerage firm Fiorella Insurance Agency and the CEO of a marketing company in Texas were each sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for a $233m fraud scheme that exploited vulnerable people to fraudulently enroll them in subsidized Affordable Care Act health plans.
