Canada to invest up to $100m to scale national health data network

The Vital initiative will use an approach called federated AI in which initial data remains within each province or territory’s borders to avoid compromising jurisdictional constraints.

Canada’s forthcoming artificial intelligence (AI) strategy will include a budget of up to $100m to expand a Toronto-based health data platform into a national system. The move is aimed at improving patient care and attracting investment, reports the Globe and Mail.
