USTR opens section 301 investigation into Germany’s drug‑pricing reforms

The Trump administration says it will examine whether Germany’s reimbursement practices constitute “persistent underpayment” for new drugs or “burden or restrict US commerce.”

The United States has launched a formal trade investigation into Germany’s proposed drug‑spending reforms, escalating concerns that the country’s pricing policies may undervalue innovative medicines and disadvantage US pharmaceutical companies.
