AstraZeneca asks Fourth Circuit to revive IRA drug pricing suit

AZ argues CMS exceeded authority under the Inflation Reduction Act by grouping separate medicines under a single drug definition.

Arguing that regulators unlawfully expanded the number of medicines eligible for price controls, AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals has asked the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit to revive its challenge to the federal government’s implementation of the Medicare drug price negotiation program, part of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
