DOJ sues New York and contractor over alleged Medicaid fraud

Federal prosecutors say New York health officials and state contractor misled regulators and public about the state’s $10 billion home care program.

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed a federal lawsuit accusing New York State’s Department of Health and its chosen contractor, Public Partnerships LLC (PPL), of orchestrating and enabling an ongoing Medicaid fraud scheme tied to the state’s $10 billion Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP).
