FinCEN notice highlights rising crypto kiosk fraud

The notice warns of scammers exploiting cryptocurrency ATMs for fraud and money laundering and urges stricter compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act.

A warning to financial institutions about the growing misuse of convertible virtual currency (CVC) kiosks, often called cryptocurrency ATMs, for illicit activities including money laundering and scams, has been issued by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) in Notice FIN-2025-NTC1.
