SEC’s ‘Innovation Exemption’ allows trading of tokenized NMS stock

With the CLARITY Act blocked, the Commission is granting temporary and conditional exemptive relief for on-chain securities trading.

Aiming to advance digital innovation within the US capital markets, the SEC has issued limited and tailored relief for the trading of tokenized National Market System (NMS) stock on Tokenized Securities Venues (TSVs).

The Commission made an announcement regarding the relief – dubbed the Innovation Exemption – on September 17,allow for experimentation
