The owner and operator of three DME companies paid illegal kickbacks to doctors for medically unnecessary orthotics braces to fund a lavish lifestyle.

The owner and operator of three Texas-based durable medical equipment (DME) companies was sentenced by a Texas court to 90 months in prison for his part in a $59.9m Medicare fraud conspiracy.

In June 2024, Patrick K Cassells pled guilty in the Southern District of Texas to one count of conspiracy
