CFTC reaffirms registration framework for foreign exchanges

CFTC clarifies pathway for offshore exchanges to serve US traders under FBOT registration.

In a staff advisory, the CFTC has reaffirmed that non‑US exchanges, including digital asset exchanges, may legally serve US clients by registering as a Foreign Board of Trade (FBOT) under existing registration frameworks.
