First multi-state sweep on sale of consumer personal information

AGs in Colorado, California and Connecticut sent letters to businesses that don’t appear to be processing consumer requests to opt out of the sale of their personal information as required by law.

A joint investigative sweep into businesses refusing to honor consumers’ requests to opt-out of the sale of their personal information has been announced by the California Privacy Protection Agency (CCPA), along with California Attorney General Rob Bonta, Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser, and Connecticut Attorney General William Tong.
