Fed votes to publish supervisory stress test models

Banking industry celebrates a reduction in the opacity of the tests, while critics fear it could invite gamesmanship.

The Federal Reserve Board has voted 6-1 to seek public comment on a rule that would, for the first time, publish the supervisory stress-test models and the scenario design framework used to set large banks’ stress capital buffers, plus open drafts of the 2026 scenarios for public comment.

The Fed said
