Video-on-demand services to get tighter UK regulation

Government wants to create a level regulatory playing field and protect audiences.

Heavy hitters in the video-on-demand world, including Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+, are to be subject to Ofcom accessibility standards within the next four years.

The new UK legislation is being added onto the Media Act 2024 to protect children from harmful content.
