CFTC drops Part 20 data collection requirements

Agency said reporting requirements for large swap positions were redundant because of myriad other data collection rules on the books.

Intermediaries such as clearing organizations, clearing members, and swap dealers will no longer be required to routinely submit data collected from physical commodity swaps going forward, following a new rule change from the CFTC.

The agency issued a final order sunsetting Part 20 requirements, which previously required those intermediaries to submit
