SEC, CFTC consult on event contract reporting, portfolio margining, ETF rules

Agencies consult on whether existing regulatory frameworks can keep pace as novel products and trading strategies enter the market.

The CFTC and SEC have solicited public comment on several market structure and product-related regulatory issues. The SEC asked for comment on issues surrounding novel ETF products, while the CFTC proposed a rule that would create a more straightforward reporting scheme for event contracts.
