FDA issues multiple July 7 warnings over unauthorized keratin hair products

A series of FDA warning letters flagged several injectable keratin hair‑straightening products for lacking required authorization.

The Food and Drug Administration issued a tranche of 14 near-identical warning letters to online retailers on July 7 warning against the use of several injectable keratin and “keratine” hair‑straightening products that were found to be unauthorized and potentially unsafe.

Issued on June 23 through the regulator’s Center for Drug Evaluation
