GE Aerospace settles export control breaches with State Department

The company settled allegations that it violated export-control laws in connection with unauthorized technical data exports to China.

General Electric Aerospace has agreed to resolve 116 alleged violations of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) with the US State Department. GE Aerospace must pay a civil penalty of $36m, with $18m of it suspended under certain conditions noted below.
