SEC and CFTC explicitly state that exchanges can list crypto

A recent joint staff statement underscores that digital assets can be traded on regulated venues under existing frameworks.

The SEC’s Division of Trading Markets and CFTC’s Divisions of Market Oversight and Clearing and Risk released a joint staff statement reaffirming that listing spot crypto products on exchanges is not prohibited.

Both agencies also stated that they will promptly engage with designated contract markets (DCMs), foreign boards
