UK to review use of non-corporate comms channels in government

The announcement comes after mounting concerns about the use of off-channel communication apps by government and public sector employees, raising alarms about information security at the higher levels.

The UK government has announced the launch of an independent cross-government review into the use of non-corporate and private communication channels in the public sector.

The review will present practical recommendations to the government to improve the “quality, security, propriety, effectiveness, and efficiency of government decision-making and record-keeping.”
