UK’s ICO publishes guidance on dealing with AI-generated FOI requests

Guidance from the information watchdog comes as public authorities in the UK face an increasing burden of requests that misinterpret or misquote legislation due to the use of AI.

New guidance to help public authorities deal with an increasing burden of freedom of information (FOI) requests generated by using AI has been published by the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
