Belgian FSMA to test insurance intermediary AMLCOs

Advance warning to firms recommends preparation for exams and warns of consequences in case of shortcomings in knowledge and expertise.

The Belgian FSMA is giving notice to insurance intermediaries that it expects to “conduct an assessment of the level of AML/CFT expertise and knowledge” of their AML compliance officers. The assessments will be conducted in the last four months of 2026.
