CMS bars 11 medical supply firms after uncovering $3.4 billion Medicare fraud scheme

Federal investigators say companies billed Medicare for dead patients, unsolicited equipment, and improper claims.

Eleven durable medical equipment (DME) supply companies have been barred from future Medicare payments after the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced it has uncovered more than $3.4 billion in suspected fraudulent billing.
