John Wood Group fined £12.9m by FCA for issuing misleading statements

The company agreed to resolve the case at an early stage and qualified for a 30% discount on the penalty imposed. The original fine was £18.5 million.

British oil consultancy firm John Wood Group PLC has been fined £12.9m ($17.2m) by the FCA for publishing misleading information in relation to its financial results over multiple years.

Inaccurate statements were published in the firm’s full-year 2022 and 2023 financial results and the half-year 2024 results, the financial watchdog has said.
