Medicare to offer $50 monthly access to GLP‑1 drugs under new CMS demonstration

Part D enrollees will gain $50 monthly access to select GLP-1 medications through a new CMS demonstration program – but at what price?

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have announced a new program for seniors to access certain GLP-1 medications monthly at a sharply reduced cost.

The limited-time Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program will provide eligible Medicare beneficiaries access to certain GLP-1 medications for $50 per month beginning July 1, 2026, through December 31, 2027.
