The SEC has named Natalia Díez Riggin Senior Advisor and Director of its Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs. She joined the authority in January and has been serving as Acting Director.
Before joining the SEC, Riggin served as a senior professional staff member on the US Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs for Chairman Tim Scott of South Carolina.
She has also served as deputy legislative director for US Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana, and staff director for the Economic Policy Subcommittee of the Senate Banking Committee.
“I’m pleased that Natalia will continue to lead this important office and serve as our primary liaison to Congress and other federal agencies as well as state governments,” said SEC Chairman Paul S Atkins. “She has been serving the Commission effectively since January and her experience will help guide the Commission as we return to our core mission that Congress set for us.”
Riggin has also been a policy aide to US Senators Mike Enzi of Wyoming and Mark Kirk of Illinois.
She received a BA in political science and history from the University of Illinois Chicago.
