No more faux five stars: CMA launches fake reviews investigations

Five new investigations into alleged practices surrounding fake and misleading online reviews have been announced by the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). The move signals a more assertive approach to consumer law enforcement under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (DMCCA).
