OECD says US could do better on beneficial ownership reporting

Thanks to its its current watered-down definition of beneficial owners, the OECD found the US to only be partly compliant with its rules on the transparency of beneficial ownership information.

The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has issued its latest monitoring report. It offers updates on 14 jurisdictions, including the US, regarding the implementation of standards underlying the exchange of information on request (EOIR) between tax authorities about beneficial ownership (BOI) details.
