SEC, FDA announce MOU to strengthen market-sensitive information oversight

New FDA-SEC information-sharing framework heightens scrutiny of disclosures, insider trading risks and prediction market activity.

Expecting to intensify oversight of how life sciences companies communicate regulatory developments and manage market-sensitive information, the SEC has announced a cooperation agreement with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The two agencies signed a Memorandum of Understanding on August 31, 2026, establishing a formal framework for information sharing
