India publishes Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Rules, 2025

The 23 rules will be implemented in a phased manner over a period of 18 months. Experts think this is a key strength.

The Indian government has published a set of much-anticipated rules on the protection and use of digital personal information of its citizens, known as the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Rules, 2025. The publication follows the promulgation of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act in 2023.
