FCA advises firms on extra steps to prevent sanctions breaches

The call comes despite the regulator saying firms have made progress in preventing sanctions breaches – but gaps remain.

The UK’s financial watchdog has said majority of financial firms operating in the country have strong systems and controls to identify potential sanctions breaches before they occur, but warns that there are still challenges, and that more should be done.
