SEC creates new Financial Reporting and Accounting Unit

The new unit will be staffed by attorneys and accountants with specialized skills related to financial reporting, accounting, and auditing.

A new Financial Reporting and Accounting Unit has been created by the SEC within the agency’s Enforcement Division. It will be focused on financial reporting and accounting fraud cases but will also pursue general misconduct in the accounting and auditing arenas.
