Cloud providers call for swift and strong sector regulation

The UK’s competition authority is debating restrictions on Microsoft and AWS that would attempt to address their market dominance.

A survey conducted by the Open Cloud Coalition, an advocacy group of 24 cloud providers, has revealed strong industry support for regulatory intervention in the UK’s cloud services market.

The results show 71.2% of cloud providers believe regulatory intervention is urgent or extremely urgent, while nearly 75% fear consolidation and expansion
