President Trump has criticized banks for delaying crypto legislation, after they lobbied lawmakers to change key points of the GENIUS Act. The law, which passed in 2025, currently prohibits stablecoin issuers from directly paying interest to holders, but crypto platforms can still offer what they call a “reward” or “yield.”
