Google fined €325m by CNIL for displaying ads and placing cookies without consent

The French Data Protection Authority found that more than 74 million accounts were affected by the breach relating to cookie consent.

Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC have been fined a combined €325m ($381m) by the CNIL for displaying advertisements between Gmail users’ emails without their consent, and for placing cookies when creating Google accounts without the valid consent of users in France.
