President’s teleprompter fined for Kalshi trades

CFTC found material, nonpublic information was used in breach of duty of trust and confidence to trade event contracts on the prediction platform.

After opening a Kalshi account in December 2025, Gabriel Perez allegedly traded a series of “mention markets” listed on the platform over the period of three months. Examples of the trades included:

  • “What will Trump say during his address at the WEF?”
  • “What will Trump say during his remarks in Pennsylvania?”
