Private capital’s balance: Uyeda on valuation, access, and oversight

SEC Commissioner Mark T Uyeda’s speech set out a pragmatic blueprint. He called for nurturing vibrant private markets alongside public ones, maintaining disclosures that are materially accurate to protect investors and reduce financing costs, and modernizing access to alternatives in 401(k)s (tax-advantaged, employer-sponsored retirement savings accounts) with sensible safeguards.
