Rise in UK money mule activity as number of suspected accounts soars

FCA survey results show tens of thousands more accounts suspected.

The FCA has released new findings on the scale of money mule activity across UK financial services, revealing that regulated firms offboarded over 230,000 suspected mule accounts in 2025, up from around 185,000 in 2023.
