ECB looking into allegations Deutsche Bank lied about financial strength

Questions stem from a separate legal case involving Deutsche Bank and a former employee, who is suing the bank.

The European Central Bank (ECB) is said to be looking into allegations that Deutsche Bank, one of Europe’s largest lenders, has misled regulators about its financial strength.

As reported by the FT, inquiries could potentially revolve around whether the bank submitted balance-sheets that underplayed existing risks.
