UK’s FRC sanctions auditing firm and partner for breaching standards

The firm and an engagement partner admitted breaches of International Standards on Auditing in two areas.

The UK’s auditing regulator has imposed a penalty of almost £1.2m ($1.6m) against global audit firm Ernst & Young LLP (EY) for failing to properly assess all available information when preparing the audit reports of a collapsed furniture retailer.
