ASIC secures record $581m in civil penalties orders in 2025-26

Besides securing major penalties against global firms for misconduct, ASIC also drove tens of millions in payments back to Australians in the first half of 2026.

Australia’s securities regulator has said it secured record A$830m ($581m) in civil penalties orders during the 2025-26 financial year, delivering one of its strongest enforcement periods on record.

ASIC also managed to deliver A$644m ($451m) back to Australians in the same period, the regulator said in a press
