Private asset management firms face greater financial crime risk, FCA says

Hundreds of firms in the sector took part in the FCA review and shared details about their business models and risk identification and control systems.

The UK’s financial regulator has warned that some firms in the asset management and alternative firms space, especially those active in the private markets, face a heightened risk regarding their financial crimes controls.

The FCA said a number of causes exposed these firms to greater risk, including cross-jurisdictional complex ownership
