Macquarie Securities to pay A$35m for systemic failures – December 19, 2025

Macquarie Securities (Australia) Limited (MSAL) has admitted to misleading conduct by misreporting millions of short sales, caused by repeated failures in its systems and processes.

It admitted to not reporting at least 73 million short sales correctly between December 11, 2009,
