FCA tightens screw on claims firms after motor finance redress scheme

The regulator has taken a number of steps aimed at keeping customers away from claims management companies and law firms since announcing the redress late last month.

The UK’s financial watchdog is stepping up efforts to clamp down on claims management companies (CMCs) and law firms suspected of misleading consumers and potential claimants about the regulator’s landmark motor finance redress scheme.
